"stockinette" stitch--alternating rows of knitting and purling

As in: last night Lara, owner of  In the Loop, taught me and 3 other beginners purling.   The knit stitch and purl stitch work together to create the pattern of your knitted fabric.

My progress in knitting has been steady, and I should have something to show you soon.  If you're interested in learning to knit, call Lara at In the Loop for details on upcoming classes.
