A Word for Wednesday

C

ensorious:
severely critical; fault-finding

As I was reading Breakfast at Tiffany's, (my book club book of the month), last night, I came across this word. It was used in this context: "Holly looked upon Mag most censoriously as she flirted with the men at the party." (Not a direct quote, but something like that...)

February Faves

So, now that the big race is over, and our Super Bowl party is history, I feel the need to enumerate some things to look forward to in the next week, so here goes:

1. My sister's Baby Reveal Party! Tomorrow night I am going to a Gender Reveal party for close family and friends where my baby sister will let us know the sex of the baby that she is due to have on June 28th. I am so excited to find out...she's doing a really cute-themed party where we have to wear blue or pink based on which sex we think it is, then we'll bite into cupcakes and see which color icing is inside to find out the actual sex! (We got the idea from Hostess with the Mostess' blog post here).

2. Going to see An Education at The Nickelodeon this Wednesday night. This film has received 3 Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture.

3. Valentine's Day...I will be babysitting my nephew, Ben, for the night and allowing his parents to celebrate V-Day, as my husband will be working all day and night. We plan on celebrating V-Day the following night. I am super-excited about the gift that I will be giving my husband this year! (Thanks for the idea, Rebecca).

4. Beginning my book club book of the month, Breakfast at Tiffany's.

5. My second week weigh-in tomorrow night for Hampton Hills Biggest Loser. I am crossing my fingers that not drinking and dieting for 2 weeks has continued to pay off in weight loss!

What are you looking forward to this week?

Books and a Movie Making Me Giddy

The first meeting of a brand new Book Club has me giddy! We met last night to introduce ourselves and propose books for the group to read over the next few months. It is amazing how inspired and excited I feel after a couple hours in a room talking about books with really intelligent, diverse, women. And part of my excitement was meeting people that I had never met before--you know how meeting new people who you have so much in common with makes you feel validated and alive and more in touch with your environment somehow?

Anyway, we've decided to read Breakfast at Tiffany's by Truman Capote as
our first book, and The Help by Kathryn Stockett as the second. I couldn't be
more excited to delve in!

I think I am also feeling rejuvenated and giddy because I began my 12-week Biggest Loser journey at Hampton Hills Athletic Club last night. I have never even watched the show, but I have signed up to be trained and told what to eat for the next 12 weeks in the hopes of coming out on the other side with a bikini bod. (Well, that may not be possible in 12 weeks, but a girl can dream). Anyway- I'll keep you updated on my progress throughout the journey!

As for the movie mentioned in the title of this post, I am excited to see New York, I Love You, playing at The Nickelodeon tonight through next Tuesday. This movie tells 10 separate tales of love in New York City and I can't wait to get some sappy goodness.

What has you giddy this week?
